Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish born and bred singer. Her birth date was 25, December, 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother as is Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was admitted to the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70s, where she took flute lessons and harpsichord for three years. She was able to survive on a student stipend and did part-time jobs to help supplement her income. Lennox was able to make a change in her profession after she became dissatisfied by her lack of skill in comparison with others Royal Academy students. Lennox played flute in a band named Dragons Playground in 1976. The group broke up shortly before their appearance in I.T.V's talents program New Faces. She was the singer of The Tourists from 1977 until the year 1980. It was during this time that she met Dave Stewart with whom she would form her pop group Eurythmics. Lennox then went on to release her first solo album Diva. The album was released in 1992. The album was an enormous critical and commercial success. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth album as a solo artist was released in October 2014. This C.D. The C.D. is composed of Lennox's favourite blues, jazz and soul songs from her childhood. Lepidoptera was released by Lennox on the 19th of May 2019. The collection comprised of four songs improvised. The E.P. is an accompanying piece to her art installation at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called Now I Let You Go... It is the first time she has released an independent album.
